The New York Rangers added some forward depth off the waiver wire Friday, claiming Tye Kartye from the Seattle Kraken, Sportsnet's Elliotte Friedman reported Friday.
Kartye, 23, has three goals and eight points in 40 games this season after scoring 11 goals and 20 points in 77 games in 2023-24. He initially joined the Kraken as an undrafted free agent in July 2025
The St. Louis Blues also assigned veteran forward Mathieu Joseph to their American Hockey League affiliate after he cleared waivers on Friday, the team announced.
Joseph, 27, has appeared in 39 games for St. Louis this season, registering two goals and 11 points. He is in the final year of a $2.95 million deal and will be a free agent.
The fourth-round pick from the 2015 NHL Draft has 61 goals and 160 points in 459 career NHL games with the Ottawa Senators and Tampa Bay Lightning.
